  • 2 slices hearty bread sourdough, whole grain, or rye
  • Pinch sea salt
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil optional
  • Red pepper flakes optional, to taste

Method
 

  1. Toast the bread slices until golden and crispy on the edges.
  2. Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a small bowl (or mash directly in the skin).
  3. Mash the avocado with a fork until creamy but still slightly chunky. Add lemon juice and a pinch of salt, then mix.
  4. Spread the mashed avocado evenly onto each slice of toasted bread.
