Ingredients
  

  • cups unsweetened almond or coconut milk
  • tsp ground turmeric (or 2 inches fresh turmeric, grated)
  • ½ tsp ground ginger (or 1-inch fresh ginger, grated)
  • ½ tsp coconut oil or ghee
  • 1 pinch black pepper
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • ¼ tsp ground cinnamon (optional)

Method
 

  1. Add the milk, turmeric, ginger, coconut oil or ghee, black pepper, and optional cinnamon to a small saucepan.
  2. Heat gently over medium heat, stirring often, until warm and fragrant. Do not boil.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in honey or maple syrup if using.
  4. Strain if using fresh turmeric or ginger, then pour into mugs.
  5. Serve warm, or froth with a whisk or milk frother for a golden milk latte.

Notes
