This golden milk recipe is a warm, soothing Ayurvedic drink made with turmeric, ginger, black pepper, and creamy milk. Known for its anti-inflammatory and immune-boosting benefits, this comforting beverage is perfect for relaxation, digestion, and bedtime routines.
Add the milk, turmeric, ginger, coconut oil or ghee, black pepper, and optional cinnamon to a small saucepan.
Heat gently over medium heat, stirring often, until warm and fragrant. Do not boil.
Remove from heat and stir in honey or maple syrup if using.
Strain if using fresh turmeric or ginger, then pour into mugs.
Serve warm, or froth with a whisk or milk frother for a golden milk latte.
Notes
Always include black pepper and a source of fat to improve curcumin absorption. Avoid boiling to preserve nutrients. You can strain the drink if using fresh turmeric or ginger. Sweeten lightly or enjoy unsweetened for bedtime.
