Equipment

  • large pitcher
  • Knife
  • Cutting board
  • mixing spoon
  • serving glasses

Ingredients

  • 6 cups cold filtered water
  • 1/2 large English cucumber, thinly sliced
  • 10 to 15 fresh mint leaves
  • 1 to 2 cups ice
  • 4 slices lemon or lime slices, optional

Instructions

  • Wash the cucumber and mint well, then pat them dry.
  • Slice the cucumber into thin rounds or ribbons.
  • Add the cucumber slices to a large pitcher.
  • Gently press the mint leaves between your palms to release their aroma, then add them to the pitcher.
  • Pour in the cold filtered water and stir gently.
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. For stronger flavor, chill for 1 to 2 hours.
  • Serve the cucumber mint water over ice with extra cucumber slices or mint, if desired.

Notes

For the freshest flavor, drink cucumber mint water within 24 hours. If storing longer, strain out the cucumber and mint after 8 to 12 hours and keep the infused water chilled. Add fresh garnish right before serving. Variations include lemon slices, lime slices, sparkling water, fresh ginger, or sliced strawberries.
