Equipment

  • medium bowl or large measuring cup
  • whisk
  • small saucepan or kettle
  • 4 small cups or jars
  • refrigerator

Ingredients

  • 1 packet unflavored gelatin (about 2 1/4 teaspoons)
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 1 cup hot lemon water or strong herbal tea

Instructions

  • Pour 1 cup of cold water into a medium bowl or large measuring cup.
  • Sprinkle the unflavored gelatin evenly over the cold water and let it bloom for 5 minutes.
  • Heat the lemon water or herbal tea until hot and steaming but not at a rolling boil.
  • Slowly whisk the hot liquid into the bloomed gelatin until completely dissolved and smooth.
  • Pour the mixture evenly into 4 small cups or jars.
  • Cover and refrigerate for 2–4 hours, or until fully set.
  • Serve cold with a spoon.

Notes

For the brightest flavor, use lemon water or hibiscus tea. For a softer texture, add 1–2 extra tablespoons of liquid. For a firmer texture, reduce the liquid slightly. This recipe can be a light snack, but gelatin does not cause weight loss by itself. It works best as part of balanced meals and healthy habits. Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
