About Us

Hi there! I’m Lora, and welcome to my little corner of the internet, cheflorarecipes.com. I’m a 36-year-old mom, recipe tinkerer, and Oregon native who believes that good food doesn’t have to be complicated or time-consuming. If you’ve ever found yourself staring into the fridge at 5 p.m. with no plan and hungry kids asking what’s for dinner, then you are so in the right place.

My journey into cooking started the way I imagine it does for a lot of moms, pure survival. I had two little ones, a full-time job, and no time to make the Pinterest-perfect meals I saw online. So I started experimenting with ways to make delicious, healthy-ish food fast. I’m talking about real-life recipes: dinners that come together with a toddler on your hip and a laundry timer beeping in the background. Meals that use ingredients you actually have in your pantry. And yes, plenty of shortcuts that save sanity without sacrificing flavor.

I didn’t go to culinary school. My kitchen was my classroom. Over the years, I’ve burned things, under-seasoned things, and once accidentally used powdered sugar instead of flour in a roux (don’t ask). But each little mishap taught me something, and eventually, friends started asking for my recipes. That’s when I realized: maybe other moms out there could use a recipe friend who gets it, who’s not here to judge your frozen veggie stash or tell you that boxed pasta is a crime (it’s not, by the way. It’s dinner. And it’s delicious).

That’s why I started this site. To share simple, tested, and totally doable recipes with people like you. I focus on meals that take 30 minutes or less, one-pan wonders, slow cooker lifesavers, and a few sweet treats for those much-needed “me moments.”

My philosophy? Feeding your family doesn’t have to be fancy to be fabulous. And you don’t have to do it alone. I’m here cheering you on, messes and all.

Thanks for stopping by, I’m so glad you’re here.

Warmly,
Lora.
